Hips square. One leg reaches up and back.
- Start in Downward Dog, hands wide and hips high.
- Lift one leg straight up behind you, toes pointed.
- Keep both hips level, so the lift comes from the leg and not a twist.
- Press evenly through both hands and breathe.

Tips: Keep the hips square; the leg only goes as high as they stay level. Bend the standing knee if the back starts to round.
Easier: Lift the leg only a few inches, toes hovering off the floor. Hands on a chair seat for a standing version.
