The front of the thigh, with nothing to balance on.

Side-Lying Quad, floor position

60s each side hold · floor

Thighs stacked. Heel toward your glute.

  1. Lie on your side with your legs straight and your feet stacked.
  2. Rest your head on your lower arm or a cushion.
  3. Bend the top knee and take hold of that ankle behind you.
  4. Draw the heel toward your glute, keeping the thighs in line.

Tips: Keeping the top thigh level with the bottom one is what makes this work. Let the hip travel forward instead of letting the knee drift ahead of it. Hug the bottom knee in slightly if you start to roll.

Easier: Loop a strap or towel around the ankle. Bend the bottom knee for a steadier base. Rest your head on a cushion to keep the neck easy.
